Donation Libraries by Professors Emeritus

Gifu University Library


Iwata Library:
Dr. Shuzo Iwata, professor emeritus of Gifu University, donated 2,800 volumes of books to Gifu University Library.
These volumes include rare books about indigenous mathematics of Japan.


Hayano Library:
Dr. Saburo Hayano, former president of Gifu University, donated 860 volumes of books to Gifu University Library.
These volumes include rare art books.


Imanishi Library:
Dr. Kinji Imanishi, former president of Gifu University, donated 2,900 volumes of books and journals about mountains, etc. to Gifu University Library. Dr. Imanishi was awarded the Order of Culture in 1979. He is a noted ecologist and anthropologist in Japan, and is also well-known as a mountain climber and explorer. Dr. Imanishi authored a number of books about social science based on his own fieldwork.


Hayashi Library:
Dr. Kaneo Hayashi, former president of Gifu University, donated 260 volumes of books to Gifu University Library including books about Kenji Miyazawa, a renowned Japanese poet and writer (1896-1933).
